Athletes, students, Eagles fans, and families have much to celebrate this Spring at Beaufort High School! Thanks to the passing of the most recent referendum. Beaufort High School’s stadium as well as softball and baseball fields received long-awaited improvements. “With the new additions on the fields,” says Linc Lyles, BHS Athletic Director, “we now have full storage areas for our softball and baseball fields. We also have brand new dugouts that were expanded so the kids really feel like they are in a professional atmosphere.” According to Lyles, the foul ball areas and surrounding fence lines extend around the entire fields now and “everything looks brand new!”
Perhaps even more notable are the improvements made to the stadium with the addition of new artificial turf. “It has been a game changer in keeping things low maintenance, especially with our teams using it day after day. Our brand-new track surface is first class as well,” he explains, adding that Beaufort High now can host state championship-level track meets because each event is up to standard with high schools across the state.
“We are so proud of our new facilities and owe much gratitude to our community for voting in favor of the bond referendum,” says Lyles, explaining that another bond referendum will be coming soon for additional improvements the school district is seeking. “Our school district has made some amazing improvements so far, but we are not complete yet. We hope the community understands that more updates are needed to our facilities and continues to support these initiatives and improvements, too. Go Eagles!”
