Boasts the Best View in Beaufort & in Beauty

“It was all just meant to be,” says Liesle Keeler, owner of One Salon located at the Lady’s Island Marina. With more than 20 years’ experience as a stylist, Liesle said that she had the opportunity last fall to move into an incredible space on the second floor of the marina, which offers wide open views and gorgeous sunsets over Factory Creek. “I just couldn’t pass it up!”

Now, she and her team of two accomplished stylists, Nicole Kader and Shelby Newberry, bring decades of experience, and a newly added esthetician and makeup artist, Zyra Bond, are providing Beaufort with top-notch hair care and beauty services with equally beautiful views.

“The space was formerly my friend and client’s yoga studio. She sadly passed away, and another friend took over the studio. When she decided to move on, I just knew I had to be here in this space. I kept the name to honor her,” Liesle explains. “The salon has such incredible energy that our customers feel it immediately when they arrive.”

Though never having worked together before, Liesle said she and her team of stylists just seem to “naturally fit together. We have a lot of fun here in the salon, and our clients feel comfortable here, too. That’s what matters most to us.”

One Salon’s menu of services for the family includes haircuts, blowouts, a full range of color services, hair care treatments and products, and bridal consultations. In addition, beauty services are now offered, including various facial and body treatments, waxing services, and professional
makeup applications.

Liesle, who began her career as a master haircare specialist and barber for many years at Harvey’s Barbershop in Beaufort, says she enjoys her work so much. “I view it as more than a career. I love meeting new people, getting to know my clients, and building lasting relationships with them. It just doesn’t feel like work!”

Yet, she adds, “We are all very well-trained in our field. We’re constantly traveling all over to continue our education. International artists visit us, too, so we can be trained in the latest trends and techniques. When you’re a stylist, you never stop learning.”

Opening her salon in September 2020, one might assume it was challenging to establish a new business. But, Liesle asserts, “For me, the circumstances of the pandemic actually gave me courage. We’re never promised tomorrow, so I wanted to live without regrets. I knew opening the salon was meant to be, and I’m so glad I did.”

Since then, the business has steadily grown, welcoming new clients to enjoy the services along with an incredible view. “There’s not a client who walks in that doesn’t appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. That beauty for us is both inside the salon and outside, too. We love to say that One Salon is where beauty, style, and tranquility collide!”

Born in Kentucky, raised in Edisto, and having moved to Beaufort with her family 31 years ago, Liesle says, “What’s not to love about the Lowcountry? It’s beautiful here in Beaufort. We love living here.” The mother of two sons, Liesle says she enjoys time spent on the water boating and paddle boarding—whatever chance she gets.

Excited about new plans for the future, Liesle adds that One Salon is looking forward to working with massage therapists Wanda Godley and Phoebe Mills located downstairs in the marina. They will put together “Spa Day” packages for clients to enjoy. “Stay tuned for more details about that.”
