A Fundraiser For Teen Outreach Ministry

Young Life is an international ministry for adolescents! The staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them — fun, adventure, friendship, and a sense of significance. In doing so, they earn the privilege of talking to teens about something that matters most of all — the truth about God and His love for them. In Beaufort, there are ministries for high schoolers, middle schoolers, and teen moms! All Fishing Tournament proceeds support Beaufort Young Life.

This year’s tournament was held on November 12 and 13. On November 12, the Captain’s Meeting was at Beaufort Boat and Dock with delicious food from Sea Eagle Market. Young Life held a raffle and prepared for the next day of fishing! Thirty-nine boats entered to fish in the tournament. Anglers could fish for seven different species: redfish, trout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, king mackerel, and Spanish mackerel. The weigh-in was held at Marker 244/Port Royal Marina from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

The top two winners by species were as follows: Redfish – Jeff Miller (4.98 lb), Troy Alcott (4.69 lb); Black Drum – Maci Dean (11.58 lb), Phillip Jones (7.06 lb); Sea Trout – David Tilton (3.09 lb), Danny Norwood (2.81 lb); Sheepshead – Clay Fawcett (6.35 lb), Maci Dean (5.24 lb); Flounder – Clay Fawcett (5.51 lb). Congratulations to all the winners, and Young Life thanks everyone for participating.
