Brittany Parris
Selling The Lowcountry

If you have ever gone through the process of purchasing or selling a home, you have certainly been introduced to the complexity of the checklist items that must be completed — to earn your way to that coveted photo of you smiling with a key in your hand at the closing table. The red tape and many facets can often add stressors to an experience that should be memorable. Finding someone with the roadmap needed for a successful journey — ingrained in their DNA to act as a navigational beacon for you — certainly melts the stress and allows you to soak up the process. Brittany Parris has positioned herself and her passion for helping people to do exactly this.
Growing up playing along the pluff mud river banks, Brittany has always unintentionally found herself in the role of a helper in some capacity. Spending sixteen years literally responding to the needs of our community as an EMT, she has landed a career in real estate, where she has been able to curate a role to serve the community differently. The desire to make this transition came from the pull to be more present with her family — the days are long, but the years are short. Realizing her youngest child was going to be entering high school, she knew it was time to make a pivot that would allow her to show up for all the moments that seemed to be passing too quickly. As an agent, Brittany is there for her clients to assist with the many moving parts that come with the home-buying process while still being able to show up for her daughter at the ball field. Family is the primary cornerstone supporting her value system, which fuels her drive to be the best she can be for every client.
Obtaining her real estate license many years ago, she initially held off on her pursuit as an agent. She found herself working in telecommunications sales management. Although she enjoyed the work, Brittany felt that something wasn’t in alignment with what she could offer our community. This was when she decided to go all-in and step outside her comfort zone. After interviewing with multiple real estate firms, Brittany decided to hang her license with a large national franchise. It wasn’t long before she realized the large national firms were not for her. She was looking for a top-producing firm that focused more on training and professional growth. Coastal Real Estate Solutions has always had an excellent reputation in that regard, so the decision was an easy one. Coincidentally, or perhaps more serendipity, Brittany’s license is now displayed in the very same building she worked her first job as a teenager in Port Royal on Paris Avenue — Reruns, which was a locally owned consignment shop. She has come full circle, and her timing couldn’t be better. Safe Harbor’s purchase of the Port Development in Port Royal is very exciting and is getting a lot of attention.
Offering a holistic and systematic approach to real estate, she tends to all the details with ease that typically cause immense overwhelm for buyers and sellers, by streamlining the process and becoming their one-stop shop from beginning to end. Although Brittany will admit to thriving in chaos, she manages to juggle her listings with a level of high quality not typical for most. Putting the sign in the yard is just the first step, then comes the marketing, networking, negotiations, inspections, repairs, and paperwork. These are the items where her ability to hold people accountable to a higher standard and work ethic shines through. Mixing competence and warmth, Brittany eliminates the unnecessary stress that would otherwise strip away the joy from selling and buying homes. Most important to her, however, is not just utilizing this career to provide for her family but for the beauty of building lasting relationships. Staying in close contact with all of her current and past clients, she not only has been able to perform a job, but has also managed to gain long-lasting friendships.
Growing up in the Lowcountry has gifted Brittany a “rolodex” of authentic relationships with multiple locals who offer a range of services and trades. She knows exactly who to recommend for each and every issue, and she probably knows their mama too. Selling here is different than in a larger city. “It’s like walking into a church, and everyone knows your name — a much different experience than attending a large church with loud music and all the frills, yet no one knows who you are. Working real estate here locally, in the same place where I grew up, it’s always personal, in the best way,” explains Brittany. The Beaufort/Port Royal community draws numerous travelers from across the states for many of our unique characteristics and history, including the beautiful homes overlooking the river. Being able to take “field trips” with these clients to find a home does not feel like work. Although buying and selling are her primary focus areas, Brittany has also branched out to work with investors to oversee project management and be an integral part of the design-and-build process, an area she has found an unexpected interest and expertise in.
When Brittany isn’t “working out of her car,” which she will tell you is her office, she is planning a trip or traveling with her family. Waking up to the bittersweet reality of the limited days we all have, she has set the intention for this time to prioritize seeing the world with the ones she loves alongside her. The beauty of this particular career choice is that it travels with her, and although some may tell her to slow down, she finds it immensely important to be available for her clients — because they have trusted her to walk alongside them. She will still manage to spin all the plates from wherever on the map she is traveling. You can find Brittany right here in Port Royal, where she maintains her license beside the Coastal Real Estate Solutions Team. If she isn’t physically there, she is on the go connecting the dots for her clients … however, you can count on her always being in touch!
When asked what we can expect from the real estate market in the future, Brittany replies, “The market is still competitive, but the tide is shifting. Our real estate market has been good for years. The market is still strong, but we are starting to see it stabilizing to some degree. I don’t think we will see anything like the crash of 2008, but experts predict a market correction in the foreseeable future. With that said, if you are looking to buy or sell a property, I would welcome the opportunity to earn your business.”
