Naomi Forrestall just wrapped up and is in the books,

family and friends at the festival events. My
John Forrestall personal favorite was talent night; seeing and

doubt in my mind next year’s festival will be

Beaufort Lifestyle is This time of the year is bittersweet for me
proudly produced by: because I love having my kids home for the
summer; the hustle and bustle of their friends
in and out of the house, the many bike rides,
playing in the street with neighborhood kids, swimming in the pool, and going to my
favorite place, the beach. I love the sand in my toes, the salty air, and the warm ocean

The beginning of August brings tax free weekend, and kicks off back to school
preparations. On the first day of school every year, I go through the motions trying to
hold myself together. Every year, after we say our good-byes and ‘have a great first day’
to each child, I cry, I mean I sob. It hits me that day, more than their birthdays, which is
PO Box 2553 usually when you naturally reflect on your child getting older. For me it’s the next grade,
Beaufort, SC 29901 it reminds me that it is one less year they are under my roof. Then, for the rest of the day, I

find myself pacing, waiting for them to come home. No doubt, we will quickly get into the
routine of school and the new normal.
